Do you have advanced MS Office skills? If so, then a career as a presentations specialist could be for you. We are urgently looking for candidates with advanced skills to join our clients (an investment bank in the City) busy presentations department. What is the purpose of a Presentations Department? The Presentations Department is a support function that provides a service to the Investment Bankers. The bankers are able to give notes to the Presentations team, who will then produce the required presentations using the company templates (this ensures consistency). The completed presentation is then returned to the banker within an agreed time frame. What is their Presentations Department like? Presentations Departments can have up to around 100 staff. As the department is open 24 hours a day, there are usually three Shift Managers – Day, Evening and Graveyard. There is also a Workflow Assistant/Operator, whose role is to take the work from the Bankers and then distribute it to available Operators. We are recruiting DTP Presentations Operators – this is the hands-on operating position within the department. What is the role of a DTP Presentations Operator? This is another term for ‘DTP Operator’ or ‘Presentations Specialist’. You will be required to produce accurate presentations using the MS Office Suite. Our Client uses more MS Word than MS PowerPoint and MS Excel, but it is vital that you have advanced-level skills in all three packages. Is training provided? Training is not provided on how to use the MS Office suite. However, our client does provide an excellent induction programme that will guide you through their methods and requirements. Most candidates find this very useful and this lasts 4 days. How much can I expect to earn? The hourly rates are as follows: Day (08.00 – 17.00) £15.18ph Evening (17.00 – 24.00) £20.60ph Graveyard (00.00 – 08.00) £26.02ph Weekend (Any time) £26.02ph The above rates are inclusive of holiday pay.
